Americans in Paris

You know the drill: Dave getting gnarly. This time it includes an old school board. He tweaked his ankle a couple days earlier, so he couldn't ollie all that well. So at this spot we were skating, Dave spotted this ledge off these stairs and charged it in standard Dave fashion. Shereen looks either super bummed that we're at skating, or super tired. It was the latter. We had just gotten back to Paris from Italy, and we took an 11 hour night train. We were excited to sleep all night on the train so we wouldn't lose a day traveling, but our excitement soon went away when we saw our sleeping quarters. Six of us were packed into this prison cell on wheels with 2 foot wide cots to sleep in with an Italian dude and a Pakistani man. We thought it was only going to be the four of us (Matt, Garrett, Shereen, and me) in a room, and we had already worked out the way we would fall asleep so that Matt and my snoring wouldn't keep anyone up at night. But the two new guys added an unanticipated element to our night that threw us all for a loop. Kind of like on Matchstick Men when Nicholas Cage planned on the guy sitting on the opposite side of the booth at the airport when he made the briefcase switch, but the guy was on the other side. He had to improvise. That what we had to do. So Matt told me, "if I start to snore, shake me a little." I took that to heart, and I stayed up for 30 minutes shaking Matt every 5 minutes when he started to snore. Anyway, it was a rough night. Garrett and Shereen's beds were crowded with cushions from the train seats, so they had a rougher night than us. I think Shereen is showing how all of us truly felt inside... Except Dave, he slept in his own bed that night and skated just fine.
